BoardRounds is run by Lee Bublil ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the BoardRounds app and why. Contact: support@boardrounds.app.
Account: your email address, a password (stored hashed by our sign-in provider, never readable by us), a user ID, and the nickname and avatar you choose. We also store the study role you pick at sign-up (for example medical student or PA student).
Study activity: the clues and cases you answer, your scores, streak, XP, settings, goals, saved items, Redo list, exam dates you enter, and which features you use. We use this to run the app, to show you your own progress, and to improve the app.
Study Lab entries: sleep, study time or activity numbers that you choose to type in. They are kept with your account and are private unless you choose to share them. The app does not read HealthKit.
Reports and messages: issue reports and feedback you send, and friend requests you send or accept.
Subscription status: whether you have Premium and when it ends. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your card number.
Notifications: if you allow them, a device token so we can send reminders. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
To provide and secure the app, sync your progress between devices, send the reminders and emails you ask for, handle subscriptions, answer support requests, fix errors, and improve content. We may also use aggregated, de-identified statistics to understand how students study and for education research. We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Supabase (database and sign-in hosting), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple (payments, App Store and push delivery), and Resend (account and reset emails). They process data only to provide those services to us.
Friends and league members see your nickname, avatar, badges and league XP. Your email address and detailed answers are never shown to other users.
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile > Settings & account > Delete account). Deleting it removes your account and study data from our systems. You can also email us to ask for a copy or deletion of your data.
BoardRounds is for students of medicine and related health professions and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
